🍼 Personal Review: Truly Helpful Support & Perks
As someone currently pregnant, I participated in the Best Beginning sessions held at Calgary’s Central Library every Monday.
One session covered breastfeeding and newborn bowel habits, with hands-on demonstrations that were easy to follow and very informative.

🥐 Snacks & Useful Perks
Every session offers light snacks like bread, yogurt, nuts, and bottled water.
At the end of each session, participants receive a Calgary transit pass and a gift card to use at local PC-affiliated retailers. 😊

🌍 Networking with Mothers from Around the World
One of the best parts of the program is the opportunity to connect with expecting mothers from various cultural backgrounds.
From Korean to Canadian and Middle Eastern moms, you can share experiences, exchange helpful information, and support one another emotionally.
It’s a comforting and uplifting network, especially when going through pregnancy away from home.
✅ Final Thoughts: Don’t Prepare Alone
Giving birth in Canada can be financially and emotionally overwhelming, especially for newcomers.
But with government-funded programs like Best Beginning, you can receive emotional reassurance and practical support.
If you’re currently living in Alberta and preparing for childbirth, I highly recommend registering.
Depending on your income, you may qualify for full free access—so don’t miss this chance!
